Scion Nonprofit Staffing is searching for a Development Coordinator for an incredible research foundation in Chicago, IL! This is an exciting contract to hire opportunity offering a flexible work schedule and team-oriented environment!

The Development Coordinator will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and coordinate day-to-day activities and administrative functions for the organization and board. The Development Coordinator will work to manage donor acknowledgements, database entry, reconciliation, reports, and event planning.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage board data and ensure data accuracy
  • Send out meeting and dues reminders, maintain the board's website and social media presence, and create and distribute meeting minutes
  • Handle financial transactions for the board and foundation
  • Attend weekly event planning meetings and contribute to the planning process
  • Manage contracts for the annual gala event
  • Provide support for various projects as needed
  • Process gifts and acknowledgments, including gift processing, gift receipts, and thank-you notes
  • Coordinate the grant allocation process and prepare necessary materials
  • Maintain the donor database on a daily basis
  • Oversee office management tasks such as ordering supplies, letterhead, and envelopes
  • Assist with mailings and other administrative tasks as necessary

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Desired experience using databases, particularly Salesforce
  • Experience collaborating with volunteer boards
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Takes ownership of projects within their scope of responsibility
  • Ability to effectively manage project timelines and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiar with donor and constituent management databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a medical research and scientific setting
  • Committed to the organization's mission and displays an innovative, inclusive, and forward-thinking mindset.

Compensation:
This opportunity offers a starting pay rate of $25-$30 per hour, paid on a weekly basis plus flexible hybrid work schedule and benefits. Benefits include supplemental medical, dental and vision coverage during the assignment period!
