Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Café Manager for our client, a wonderful café that supports the needs and work of a non-profit organization in the Glendale/Fox Point area! In this role, you’ll manage the day to day operations of successful service industry operation that is the face of this organization. Management, kind, outgoing personality, mentoring, customer service/satisfaction and organization are all important skills for this position, but foremost is someone who values the good will mission of this organization. You’ll spend about 50% of your time behind the counter, and 50% of the time on management duties. Individuals passionate about helping others are encouraged to apply! This is a full time, contract to hire, onsite role.

  • Compensation range is $20-25/hr, depending on experience

What you will be doing:
  • Leadership of café members
  • Assisting with barista duties, food preparation, clean up, and customer service, ensuring customers feel comfortable and welcome
  • Provide recognition, coaching, feedback and training to existing staff and new hires
  • Scheduling, including time off requests and changes to ensure staffing is at appropriate levels
  • Manage inventory of supplies and catering orders
  • Ensure the café maintains a clean and safe environment that follows all applicable standards

What you will need:
  • A passion for learning, growing, and helping others do the same!
  • Strong customer service skills with a positive approach to problem solving
  • Prior management or leadership experience; making the team feel important and appreciated is a must
  • Experience in culinary management is a plus, but not a must
  • Ability to be come Serve Safe Certified
