Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Senior Director, Child Welfare for our client, an inspirational social services agency in West Peoria, Illinois! Reporting to the Executive Program Director, this role will direct a sophisticated child welfare program with multiple sites. This full-time, hybrid opportunity is for immediate hire!

Position Summary:
The Senior Director, Child Welfare is responsible for managing all of the program’s operations, including developing a regional budget, implementing new programs, partnering with local agencies, and collaborating with a senior leadership team. The ideal individual for this role will have an extensive background in child welfare programs and social services with extensive experience developing and managing nonprofit programs. The person selected for this role will also be a skillful leader with excellent team leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and continuously optimize a regional child welfare program with multiple sites.
  • Collaborate with senior management team.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and operations of new programs throughout the region.
  • Develop and manage regional budget.
  • Partner with local public and private agencies to improve and advance program operations.
  • Lead a team of highly talented and passionate child welfare professionals.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field (DCFS/COA accepted degrees)
  • 3+ years of program management experience, including staff leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • LCSW credential preferred.
  • Proven experience within the field of child welfare, social services, or a related field.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and documentation.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively.
  • Skilled in adaptability and self-motivation.

Compensation:
In addition to an annual salary of $85,000 to $90,000 dependent on experience, this role offers a wonderful benefits package, including 10 paid holidays, paid time off (PTO) which begins accruing on the first day of employment, a 403(b) plan, and medical, dental, vision, and life insurance!
