Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Billing Manager for an amazing nonprofit healthcare organization. This is an incredible full-time, direct hire, and ON-SITE opportunity located in San Francisco, California.
As the Medical Billing Manager, you will report to the CFO to plan and strategize the organization’s 3rd party and patient revenue goals. You will be responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating the tactics for the organization’s third-party revenue and reimbursement strategy. You will also be a manager who coaches, trains, and evaluates the staff’s performance while supervising a team of 3 billing specialists.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the Billing Department to ensure that accurate submission of claims and timely collections are in accordance with all third party contract terms including Medi-Cal and Medicare
- Daily supervision of centralized billing and collections staff functions such as accounts receivables, claims submissions, payment posting, denials tracking, medical coding analyses, reimbursement management, and more
- Ensure revenue maximization by regularly reviewing, reworking, and resubmitting unprocessed claims and denials
- Manage all billing and collection operations: orientation, training, development, coaching, corrective actions, and ongoing monitoring of all staff work-related activities
- Regularly analyze and report on billing and accounts receivable activity and results
- Communicate and provide training on changes in eligibility, insurances, coding updates, and coding errors
- Stay up to date on industry trends and participate in staff meetings and educational activities
- Serve as a lead in the implementation of any billing/coding-related changes in the organization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 5+ years of supervising experience in a health center setting
- 3-5 years in a healthcare environment with knowledge of CPT codes and ICD-10 coding protocols and procedures
- 3-5 years of experience with EPIC Systems required; NextGen preferred
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- Well-versed in federal, state, and HIPAA privacy regulations as well as Medi-Cal and Medicare
