Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Tax & Compliance Operations Specialist on behalf of an innovative technology company in the payroll and fintech space. This is a fully remote, full-time position through the end of the year.


POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to support tax and compliance operations for a fast-growing, tech-forward company that builds embedded payroll infrastructure. This role offers the chance to be part of a high-performing team working on a time-sensitive payroll tax project. Ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a desire to grow in operations, payroll, or compliance. Comprehensive training will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with tax filings, amendments, and payroll-related reconciliations

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing compliance-related documentation

  • Support operational processes related to remittances and corrections

  • Maintain detailed records and assist with data integrity and audit readiness

  • Collaborate with team members to improve workflows and support ongoing projects

  • Communicate clearly, ask questions, and escalate issues as needed to meet deadlines


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Interest or background in payroll, compliance, tax, or related operations

  • Able to follow established processes with precision and care

  • Comfortable working independently and remotely in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient with Excel, Google Workspace, and document management tools

  • Team-focused, dependable, and motivated to learn new systems and procedures


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $25 per hour. A laptop is provided, and the role follows a full-time schedule in a casual, remote work environment. The project is expected to run through November, with strong potential for extension into December or January.
