Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Medical Billing Representative for a mission-driven healthcare system committed to excellence in patient care. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire, on-site position based in San Antonio, TX.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing Representative to join a collaborative revenue cycle team. This role focuses on account resolution and reconciliation of outstanding patient balances while delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, payor knowledge, and billing expertise to help drive process efficiency and financial accuracy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Resolve outstanding patient account balances through billing, collections, and reconciliation efforts
  • Respond to account inquiries via phone, email, and correspondence
  • Review and work on claim edits and payer rejections to ensure timely submissions
  • Monitor and reconcile payments, cash applications, and bank deposits
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, payors, and internal departments
  • Maintain knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and third-party billing and coding guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience (Post-secondary education a plus)
  • Proficiency in billing forms (UB-04, HCFA 1500) and claim submission processes
  • Familiarity with hospital or healthcare billing systems and payor requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify, research, and resolve billing discrepancies or underpayments
