Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Staff Accountant for our client, a long running Nonprofit headquartered in New York City and established to maintain a certain worldwide cultural identity and heritage around the world. This is an exciting Full-Time, Direct-Hire, Hybrid opportunity located onsite in New York, NY! You will be working onsite on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and remotely on Monday and Friday.

As the Staff Accountant, you will report to the Assistant Controller and bring your accounting expertise and ability to work with a team to help the organization succeed in their mission!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for banking & investment activity
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Ensure reconciliation to bank accounts when applicable
• Approve all new account codes, programs, and endowment projects utilizing the general ledger system
• Assist with investment accounting and related administrative tasks
• Provide financial information and reports on budgets and forecasts for board presentations
• Assist with financial variance analysis and account analysis schedules
• Support accounting team on ad-hoc projects, filing and accounts payable as needed
• Assist with Year End Close, Consolidation, Annual Audit and IRS Form 990

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-3 years of Staff Accountant experience in a Nonprofit
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct is required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
