Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Trust and Will Paralegal for an amazing law firm specializing in Estate Planning and Trust Administration for clients in California. This is an exciting Full-Time, Direct-Hire opportunity located onsite in Westlake Village, CA!

As the Trust and Will Paralegal, you will utilize your legal knowledge to support attorneys and colleagues with drafting all estate planning and associated documents. You will bring your high attention to detail and exceptional time management skills to provide superior service and excellent client satisfaction!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update client information utilizing Abacus software and check for conflicts within the database
  • Draft estate planning documents and make corrections/changes to the documents as instructed by the attorney and client
  • Prepare deeds and related documents for the transfer of assets/entities
  • Prepare wills, powers of attorney, and related documents
  • Conduct research on real property to confirm the title
  • Respond to client inquiries about drafts and other estate planning and trust administration matters
  • Merge, format, and mail drafts of estate planning documents to clients
  • Assume lead responsibility for signing meetings, ensuring all documents are properly signed, notarized, and scanned into the client file
  • Participate in weekly estate planning and staff meetings
  • Communicate with clients to answer client questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with trust administration as needed
  • Oversee the management of trust administration, probate, and non-probate transfer matters from initial engagement to completion
  • Communicate with our clients, trustees, beneficiaries, and court contacts
  • Draft petitions, pleadings, IRS 706 forms, court forms, legal documents, and correspondence
  • Prepare and serve required government notices and forms
  • Prepare asset allocations, inventories, and accountings
  • Maintain electronic files and records with accuracy and attention to detail

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of Paralegal experience
  • 1-2 years of Will & Trust experience
  • 1-2 years of Drafting Estate Planning Documents experience
  • Proficiency with Abacus
  • Paralegal Certification is required

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This exciting career opportunity allows you to work with a brilliant and thriving team! The pay range for this role is $33-$35hr per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (75% covered by employer) as well as accrued PTO!
