Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a contract Accounts Payable Clerk for a wonderful healthcare organization in New York City! This role is perfect for a professional experienced in accounting with a strong desire to be a part of a supportive team within an organization providing comprehensive medical care! This is a full-time, onsite opportunity based in New York City and is ready for immediate hire!

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all invoices and check requests for payment are processed in a timely manner
• Properly Code invoices, department approvals, and data into the Meditech system
• Ensure proper PO receipt match for all inventory-related purchases
• Review invoices and appropriate documentation prior to payment
• Set up of new vendors within the accounting system and review credit balances with vendors to resolve any disputes, clarifying policies when appropriate
• Prepare wire transfers, ACH transactions, and check runs
• Process month-end close
• Review and submit the annual 1099s
• Co-create a positive work environment, specifically coaching and motivating junior accountants and accounts payable staff on the medical facility standards

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Extensive Accounts Payable experience, preferably within a medical or healthcare setting
• Meditech experience
• Detail oriented and able to proves large numbers of transactions
• Ability to multi-task
• Team oriented attitude with the ability to work independently
• Willingness to take initiative and execute projects in a timely fashion

Compensation & Benefits:
This position provides the opportunity to gain strong working experience at a medical facility providing meaningful resources and care to the community. This is a contract opportunity with an hourly compensation range of $34-38/hr. (depending on experience).
