Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Direct Hire Nonprofit Bookkeeper for an impactful nonprofit focused on the restoration and preservation of our coral reefs through innovative scientific research. This role is based out of Miami, Florida and is currently offered remotely, with plans to move to a hybrid schedule.
 
SUMMARY:
The Bookkeeper will work under the supervision of the Operations Director and provide overall support for the organization's financial operations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist organization-wide efforts including annual reports, budget development, and tracking
  • Implement organizational strategies and policies
  • Actively take part in fundraising efforts
  • Serves on ad-hoc board committees as-needed
  • Understand and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Work with accounting vendors to maintain QuickBooks, daily receivables and payables, deposits, merchant services, monthly reporting, and communication with directors
  • Reconcile statements and merchant service accounts
  • Assemble documentation for annual audit
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports to the Board of Directors

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with grant administration and grant expense allocation
  • Proficiency in G Suite as well as MS Excel and Word.
  • Experience in Quickbooks and DonorPerfect
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style
     
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This wonderful opportunity is hybrid remote and offers a salary of up to $55,000 (DOE), plus an extensive benefits package that includes fully paid health insurance, generous vacation benefits, and exciting potential for advancement!
