Scion Nonprofit Staffing is searching for a Customer Service Representative for an amazing international scientific nonprofit in Washington, DC. This long-term contract-to-hire position offers a flexible hybrid schedule and the opportunity to support scientists around the world! Our partner requires 6 days of onsite work per month. For the most part, this position is primarily remote! 
 
The Customer Service Representative will engage the organization’s members and customers by providing outstanding service via multiple communication methods including calls, emails, and social media correspondence.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main point of contact for members and institutions and respond to inquiries via a variety of communication platforms (i.e. calls, emails, live chat, social media messaging)
  • Exercise creative and critical thinking to solve problems or address member inquiries
  • Demonstrate a positive work ethic and collaborate with other representatives
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and deliver a stellar service experience
  • Offer a high level of customer service and support
  • Assist members with online activities, troubleshooting technical member service issues
  • Provide information on member benefits, upcoming events, subscription policies, etc.
  • Maintain relationships with other departments within the organization to ensure quick response to service-related problems
  • Ensure data entry into systems is accurate and secure
  • Provide accurate and timely reports
  • Other duties as assigned
 
What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience in customer or professional membership support
  • Committed to high quality service delivery and problem resolution
  • Professional, articulate demeanor, proficient phone etiquette and strong written communication skills
  • Experience with CRM systems preferred
  • High energy, positive attitude, self-motivated, able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully under tight deadlines with multiple priorities
  • Punctual, reliable, accurate, flexible and team player
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve issues
 
Compensation:
This position offers an hourly pay rate of $22/hr. This is a full time contract-to-hire position offering a flexible hybrid schedule!
