Scion Staffing has been engaged to lead the search for an experienced Payroll Manager with a nationally established construction company located in Fremont, California. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the day-to-day payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Make certain the company is in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Guarantee accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions.
  • Lead the daily workflow of the payroll team
  • Prepare, reconcile, and file relevant reports for the company.
  • Lead all payroll related projects, including continuous development and improvement of all payroll processes.
  • Liaise with both internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain current employee data.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff as needed.
  • Review and streamline payroll policies and procedures as laws change ensuring company compliance including planning and implementation of all new legislation that impacts payroll for company compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of hands-on payroll processing in UKG or similar payroll systems.
  • 5+ years of direct payroll team supervision.
  • Experience with Job Costed/Project Costed timesheets is a plus.
  • Knowledge of all applicable local, State, and federal rules and laws regarding proper pay practices for the company.
  • Proficient/expert level in knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent people skills and communication style to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Proven reliability, exemplary attendance, and work ethics.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, supervisory, and leadership skills.

COMPENSATION:
This opportunity offers a salary of $100,000 to $120,000 annually as well as comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, and paid holidays).
