Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Fundraising Assistant for an impactful Zoological Nonprofit Corporation. This is a wonderful 30 hour per week (part time), contract opportunity that is onsite in Boston, MA!

Overview:
The Fundraising Assistant helps to build private support for our client by providing administrative support to the development department, including, but not limited to, gift processing, record keeping, mailing coordination, and event support.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Process charitable gifts (including copying, filing, and entering info into database)
  • Produce timely acknowledgment letters and coordinate mailings
  • Maintain development filing systems
  • Prepare weekly check and cash deposits and associated reports
  • Maintain and update donor and prospect database
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of development events
  • Manage department calendar, inbox, and phone
  • Process and track department invoices
  • Other duties as required
 
What you need to be successful:
  • Strong commitment to the client’s mission
  • Experience in an administrative position
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor information
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to be a self-starter and to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience in fundraising environments, particularly those supporting membership and/or cultural institutions preferred
  • Positive attitude and a sense of humor

Compensation:
This exciting career opportunity allows you to work with a passionate and thriving team! Compensation includes an hourly pay rate of $30 depending on experience as well as health, dental, and vision insurance while on assignment!
