Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Interim Director of Development to be a part of a mission-driven team! Our client is making a difference by providing low-income communities with the resources and legal services they need to thrive. This is a full-time, contract opportunity working a hybrid schedule – 2/days a week reporting on-site to the organization’s St. Paul, MN office.

Working alongside the CEO and Legal Aid team, the Interim Director of Development will lead fundraising and special events planning, develop donor cultivation strategies, and strengthen connections with key legislators and community members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Establish annual Development Plan with CEO, Legal Aid team members, as well as key stakeholders when needed

· Serve as liaison between Legal Aid team and current and potential donors – ensuring accurate documentation of donor history and creating donor cultivational plans

· Oversee special events calendar including planning timelines, setting budgets, and organizing external outreach and communications

· Establish diverse grant portfolios in researching new public and private foundation funding

· Spearhead grant proposal writing efforts – ensure timely submission of proposals and compliance reports, coordinate with accounting team on budgets and build relationships with current and prospective funders

· Prepare organizational communications including annual reports, e-newsletters, press releases, etc.

· Lead development staff – monitor progress, encourage professional development opportunities, and conduct performance reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor of Arts degree required

· 5+ years’ experience in development, preferably in nonprofit

· Proven experience in grant writing, donor relations, and special events planning

· Ability to work independently and build strong team dynamic

· Strong capability to work efficiently and impactfully in on-site and remote environments

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
