Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been searching for a Lead Special Education Teacher for our client, a wonderful nonprofit organization that delivers educational support for autism. This is an exciting Full-Time, Direct-Hire opportunity located onsite in the Bronx, NY!

As the Lead Special Education Teacher, you will oversee a classroom using applied behavior analysis and play therapy in a 1-to-1 environment.  Your knowledge of teaching and love of children will help you succeed in supporting this organization and its mission!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement programs based on the science of applied behavior analysis, speech and language pathology, and occupational therapy
  • Conduct intake and ongoing assessments of students
  • Collect data on child’s progress, behaviors, and performance
  • Conduct group activities and group instruction
  • Participate in the implementation of behavior intervention plans
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Supervise/train teaching assistants, student teachers, and interns
  • Conduct daily/weekly observations for teaching assistants, student teachers, and interns
  • Participate in staff meetings and staff training sessions
  • Complete progress report for parent-teacher meetings

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2 years of classroom management is required
  • ABA experience a plus!
  • Certified Teacher for Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) a plus!
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Early Intervention (EI) a plus!
  • This position with our client requires employees to report to work at a physical location. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This exciting career opportunity allows you to work with a brilliant and thriving team! The salary range for this role is $85,000-$110,000 annually, plus a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401K Plan, and Paid Holidays.
