Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been searching for a Lead Special Education Teacher for our client, a wonderful nonprofit organization that delivers educational support for autism. This is an exciting Full-Time, Direct-Hire opportunity located onsite in the Bronx, NY!
As the Lead Special Education Teacher, you will oversee a classroom using applied behavior analysis and play therapy in a 1-to-1 environment. Your knowledge of teaching and love of children will help you succeed in supporting this organization and its mission!

As the Lead Special Education Teacher, you will oversee a classroom using applied behavior analysis and play therapy in a 1-to-1 environment. Your knowledge of teaching and love of children will help you succeed in supporting this organization and its mission!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement programs based on the science of applied behavior analysis, speech and language pathology, and occupational therapy
- Conduct intake and ongoing assessments of students
- Collect data on child’s progress, behaviors, and performance
- Conduct group activities and group instruction
- Participate in the implementation of behavior intervention plans
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Supervise/train teaching assistants, student teachers, and interns
- Conduct daily/weekly observations for teaching assistants, student teachers, and interns
- Participate in staff meetings and staff training sessions
- Complete progress report for parent-teacher meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years of classroom management is required
- ABA experience a plus!
- Certified Teacher for Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) a plus!
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Early Intervention (EI) a plus!
- This position with our client requires employees to report to work at a physical location.
