Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Billing and Medical Claims Analyst for our amazing client, a highly successful third-party administrator of employer benefits in Portland, OR. This full-time, contract opportunity is ready for immediate hire and has a flexible hybrid schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Review and resolve benefit and billing related discrepancies
  • Adhere to all established policies and procedures
  • Request required information necessary to determine benefit allowance
  • Adjudicate all claim and bill types accurately and thoroughly
  • Meet minimum production standards as established by the Claims Supervisor
  • Identify and communicate claims system and/or billing problems to the Lead Analyst and/or Claims Supervisor
  • Resolve personal daily aging claims and error reports
  • Resolve and handle all attention mail daily
  • Answer phone calls timely and accurately. Research the call and seek assistance from a Lead Analyst if necessary.
  • Resolve as assigned / identified daily reports
  • Meet or exceed claim accuracy and timeliness standards established by the Claims Manager
  • Research and correct all errors as identified by internal/external claim audit.
  • Cross training on other Funds as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduate or other acceptable equivalent level of education
  • Recent claim and/ or billing experience preferred (beneficial if with a TPA or similar office setting)
  • Recent customer service experience in a health insurance or medical office setting
  • Proficient with 10 key, PC, MS Office 365 including Outlook, Word, and Excel, Enrollment/Eligibility software
  • Ability to read and understand Summary Plan Descriptions, documentation and written directions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure independently while making appropriate decisions based upon established procedures
  • Mathematical skills and detail accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent attendance
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Team player

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This incredible opportunity offers a competitive hourly pay rate in the $23 - $27 range depending on experience and provides health, vision, and dental insurance while on assignment.
