Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced, mission driven Program Director for our wonderful client, a nonprofit organization dedicated to disrupting cycles of trafficking and exploitation for women and girls around the world. This incredible role drives program strategy, implementation, and expansion to aid in eradicating human trafficking through economic empowerment. This full-time, exempt position is for immediate hire and works 100% remote!

ROLE SUMMARY:
In this newly created and exciting role, the Program Director leads the rapidly growing U.S.-based program focusing on creating employment pathways for female-identifying adults and youth affected by human trafficking. Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, the Program Director oversees the creation and expansion of this organization’s critical programming across the country, laser-focused on growth and impact. Creating program strategy, implementing metrics, and evaluation for all program areas, the Program Director equips the organization to achieve results toward the organizational strategic vision, and oversees the organization’s workforce development initiatives, external partnerships, and pilot projects. Partaking in a global effort to end modern slavery, this role provides the opportunity to make an extremely meaningful impact and empower women and girls from day one!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Strategy, Growth, and Impact
  • In collaboration with the VP of Global Operations, build, launch, and scale a pilot program plan, expanding to new sites throughout the U.S.
  • Oversee program quality and impact by ensuring programs are based on sound design principles and organizational values leading to sustained change based on solid systems and incorporation of learnings into programs.
  • Leverage data and stakeholder engagement to provide recommendations for decision-making purposes.
  • Cultivate existing relationships with partners.
  • Drive articulation and accountability of organization-level metrics across the program. 
  • Ensure robust processes are in place for gathering evidence of program impact for data gathering, reporting, and evaluating program outputs and outcomes.
  • Represent U.S. Programs and vision of the organization to external partners, stakeholders, and community.

Culture & Team Management
  • Lead and support country teams to strive for impact.    
  • Recruit, supervise, and motivate an informed, skilled, and efficient team with an emphasis on high quality impact, inclusion, and achievement.
  • Directly supervise a growing team of site managers and staff.

Program Operations and Compliance
  • Coordinate overall country budget; manage budget within approved spending levels and establish an annual cash flow plan to ensure a steady and adequate supply of funds for program activities.
  • Build and maintain operational structures that ensure proper segregation of duties between finance and administration and fully support field programs.
  • Build and maintain an environment of collaboration among program, finance, and communication team members resulting in optimal support for program activities.
  • Ensure program implementation is on time, target, and budget, using effective M&E systems to reach desired impacts.
  • Create and maintain systems ensuring effective and transparent use of financial resources for timely and informative reporting in line with donor and policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and Nomi’s policies and procedures, and the implementation of appropriate risk mitigation measures to reduce exposure to potential risk.
  • Build and manage partnerships with external partners and stakeholders as it relates to the funding and success of U.S. programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a BA, MA preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience (inclusive of lived experience as a survivor), with three of those in a team management role. 
  • Experience working in anti-trafficking and/or economic empowerment/workforce development strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing, launching, and evaluating programs.
  • Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems.
  • Strong project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to live out organizational values of purpose, compassion, continuous learning, ownership, and service.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • The position functions in a standard office environment that requires the ability to successfully interface with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and telephones.
  • Must be able to travel through airports and on airplanes well. 
  • Sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally climbing stairs are typical activities in this role.
  • Talking (expressing or exchanging ideas through the spoken word) and hearing (perceiving the nature of sounds) are required.
  • Clarity of vision (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print) is required.
  • The ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds is required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
In addition to a competitive base salary of $80,000–$90,000, this organization provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes a paid-time-off policy of 120 hours per calendar year, 5 days of safe and sick leave, 13 paid holidays, remote work schedule, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, and a retirement plan with 3% employer match!
