Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a passionate Grant Writer, Institutional Relations on behalf of a highly respected nonprofit organization in New York City! This direct-hire position offers a full-time onsite schedule and the opportunity to join a team with a profound commitment to improving the lives of individuals and families in vulnerable communities.

Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Grant Writer, Institutional Relations is the organization’s primary grant writer for foundation and corporate support, securing crucial grant funding and supporting organizational targets. Being at the forefront of implementing vital fundraising strategies, the Grant Writer, Institutional Relations is pivotal in ensuring programmatic success, enhancing visibility, and driving the mission forward.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Grant Research and Proposal Writing: Identify potential funding organizations and research grant opportunities, and craft persuasive grant proposals and correspondences to secure support from new and existing funders.
  • Fundraising Target: Leverage existing relationships with foundations and corporations to secure new grant support during the first year, demonstrating measurable success in expanding the funding base.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Vice President of Development and key stakeholders to craft a visionary roadmap for fundraising goals. Define both short-term and long-term goals, objectives, and metrics.
  • Grant Meetings: Participate in regularly scheduled grant meetings to provide updates, discuss issues, and offer recommendations for optimizing our grant-seeking efforts.
  • Budgets and Calendar: Assist in preparing grant application budgets and maintain a grants calendar to track pending, submitted, and upcoming proposals, as well as required interim and final reports.
  • Reporting: Aid in the preparation of interim and final reports for grantors.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Literature, or a related field
  • 4 years of experience in grant writing with a focus on foundation and corporate funders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding and passion for mission and ability to convey it in all aspects.
  • Knowledge of research techniques for fundraising prospects.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
This position offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 (dependent on experience) and a complete benefits package that includes generous paid time off, health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement plans, tuition assistance, and more!
