Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Program Manager for our client, an incredible child development center dedicated to providing high-quality child development and preschool programming through a socially equitable and conscious lens. The PM will oversee all enrollment procedures and collaborate closely with the Program Director for the center’s daily operations. This direct-hire position is onsite and is for immediate hire!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and implement program goals, policies, and procedures in compliance with CA regulations.
  • Monitor day-to-day program operations to ensure efficiency and goal achievement, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Represent the program in meetings, fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Supervise team members, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain and improve client service standards and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Practice effective communication throughout the organization.
  • Participate in organizational management to uphold the organization's mission and values.
  • Manage staff time usage, training, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for database management and child enrollment.
  • Collaborate with Program Leadership on goal setting and implementation.
  • Implement food service programs according to policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and classroom standards.
  • Support child development through positive collaboration with parents/guardians.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CA ECE Site Supervisor Permit.
  • 24 ECE Units or BA College Degree with minimum 24 ECE Units or equivalent.
    • Three of the required units in administration and two in adult supervision; five years of teaching experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of CDE/CDSS regulations and filing requirements.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of 15 hours of Health and Safety training, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866.
  • Understanding of rationale and procedure for child abuse reporting as mandated by state law and responsibility as a mandated reporter.
  • Certification in Pediatric CPR and First Aid required.
  • Achievement-oriented leadership mindset.
  • Understanding of child development theory and practice, including emotional and social development.
  • Familiarity with class planning, implementation, and conducting observations of children and teaching staff.
  • Knowledgeable about social issues impacting children and families, including poverty, violence, and racism.
  • Experienced managing groups of children in structured and unstructured childcare environments.
  • Ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with universal health precautions.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Chinese dialect preferred but not required.
  • This role requires fingerprinting, a negative TB screening, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
