Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Human Resources Assistant for an amazing school whose mission is to provide a diverse and inclusive learning environment. This Full-time, Onsite, and Contract-to-Hire opportunity is located in New York City.

As the HR Assistant, you will support the COO and HR Manager in various areas including payroll, recruiting, and administrative support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process payroll and leave administration.
  • Aid with the employee lifecycle, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Serve as a liaison for the COO and HR Manager when communicating with colleagues.
  • Review correspondence and draft appropriate responses.
  • Organize meeting agendas and coordinate meeting technology as well as provide pre-meeting briefings, memos, and notes.
  • Manage, organize, and archive documents, meeting notes, and materials.
  • Assist in developing reports, presentations, publications, and materials.
  • Perform recruiting tasks such as posting and maintaining job positions online, reviewing resumes, and tracking contract status.
  • Assist the HR team with contract-related tasks such as updating contract renewal sheets, collecting resumes, and reviewing banding information.
  • Submit leave and workers' compensation claims to partners.
  • Ensure smooth administration of leave including paperwork submission, payroll processing, and notification of the leave status.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a nonprofit organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources preferred
  • Proficiency with HR database management (HRIS)
  • Advanced computer skills with MS Office and Google Suite
