Scion Nonprofit Staffing, a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for a Grant Writer for immediate hire with a reputable nonprofit devoted to advocacy and social reform to support women's & children's rights. This is a Full Time, Direct Hire, local remote opportunity in the Newark, NJ area.

***You must reside within a maximum distance of 1.5 hours from the office in the Newark, NJ area for occasional commuting into the office once or twice a month.***

As the Grant Writer, you will report to the Executive Director and identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities and harness the persuasive power of the written word to identify and research private foundations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conduct research and craft persuasive memos, fact sheets, and other materials to highlight the mission of the organization.
  • Collaborate with pro bono legal experts to support research efforts and strengthen advocacy messaging.
  • Create engaging website posts, and other communications to raise awareness and mobilize support for the organization.
  • Develop grant proposals to secure funding for critical programs and services.
  • Identify new funding opportunities and cultivate relationships with potential funders.
  • Coordinate closely with the Executive Director and other team members to align writing and research efforts with organizational goals and priorities.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years of Grant Writing experience within a nonprofit. 
  • Experience in human rights, advocacy, or social justice preferred.
  • Salesforce CRM a plus!
  • Demonstrated ability to captivate and move audiences through compelling storytelling and persuasive composition.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in writing, grammar, and style.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
