Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Office Relocation Specialist for a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting the mental health needs of youth and young adults in systemically marginalized communities. This is a part-time temporary opportunity based out of Arlington, VA that offers a remote schedule local to the area to oversee the relocation of this organization.

In this role, the Office Relocation Specialist will manage the strategic planning and execution of the organization’s relocation to a new 2000+ sq. ft. office space within a close proximity, designing the space from top to bottom to ensure efficient and seamless business operations once the team has transitioned.

  • Remote work environment allowing candidates to work from anywhere in the area but must be commutable to central Arlington as needed to oversee the office relocation!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the transition from storage to a fully operational workspace within a new 2,000+ sq. ft. office.
  • Develop a comprehensive relocation plan, including budget, timeline, and key milestones.
  • Manage all aspects of the relocation project, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the relocation.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to keep staff, board, and donors informed of project progress.
  • Oversee the selection and negotiation with vendors for moving services, IT relocation, furniture installation, etc.
  • Coordinate space planning and furniture layout for the new office.
  • Manage the decommissioning of the old office space and ensure proper disposal or donation of unwanted items.
  • Facilitate the transfer of utilities and IT services to the new location.
  • Develop and manage a detailed budget for the relocation project.
  • Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Secure necessary approvals for budget adjustments ensuring the relocation is within range of potential nonprofit budget restraints.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, operations, or related industry, executing projects from start to finish independently and anticipating logistical needs/challenges.
  • Preference for candidates who have proven success in office relocations, building effective workspaces and aligning with budget parameters to ensure a seamless transition for a small team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 as well as Monday.com, and Dropbox.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce documents and effectively communicate project expectations and timelines.
  • Desire to work on a mission driven team, collaborating effectively across multiple team members and departments.
  • Passion for creating inspiring and supportive workspaces for organizations making a difference.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to transportation for move-related tasks required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This career opportunity provides a starting hourly pay of $75.00 to $90.00 DOE with room for further career growth over time, plus medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week.
