Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of Development for our client, a highly regarded non-profit organization that provides comprehensive services to children, youth, and families in need in Los Angeles, CA! This is a wonderful full-time, hybrid, direct-hire opportunity to join an inspiring as well as mission-driven team!

Position Overview:
The Director of Development will work with the Vice President of Development & Communications, the CEO, and the Board of Directors to create and executive a strategic approach to fundraising including securing and stewarding major, individual, and corporate gifts and developing strategies to build the annual fund!

What you’ll be doing:
-Creates and executes fundraising strategies to reach position-specific annual fundraising goals from corporations and individuals
- Serves as a key member of the development team, influencing and driving strategy, relationships, and best practices to accomplish financial goals
- Responsible for developing and stewarding a portfolio of relationships to provide funding for the mission (sponsorship, strategic campaigns, event teams, grants, donations, and other partnerships)
- Develops personal revenue projections and provides financial analysis
- Oversees stewardship activities; ensures a high-touch response to partners and donors
- Drives donor-centric partnerships to support financial goals of market events, programs, and prioritized initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with organization policies, including employment, risk management, event and cash handling, and financial controls.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

What you need to be successful:
- 5-7+ years of development/fundraising experience for a non-profit organization
- Demonstrated experience building and managing a donor pipeline, with a successful track record of securing gifts.
-Adept at creating and implementing strategic fundraising plans.
-Prospect research knowledge and experience. 
- Proven record of success in account management and developing corporate partnerships that result in exceeding revenue targets
- Ability to effectively represent the organization with executive-level leaders. 
- Strong collaborator with board leadership and staff team. 
- Excellent persuasive writing, verbal communication, and analytical skills. Bilingual Spanish a plus.
- General knowledge of donor database management software is preferred.

Compensation:
