POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Philanthropy oversees all major gift fundraising efforts and supervises multiple fundraising areas, including institutional and legacy giving. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a successful history of securing six-figure-plus donations, outstanding leadership abilities, and a demonstrated aptitude in moves management, donor stewardship, and event planning. This key position is instrumental in shaping the organization’s future by cultivating donor relationships, executing strategic fundraising initiatives, managing budgets, and ensuring the seamless operation of our development activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate leadership by fostering a culture of positivity, efficiency, trust, transparency, compassion, and excellence.
  • Own a personal 80-donor portfolio to ultimately mature into $1M annually.
  • Manage the development team, including the major gifts, institutional giving, and legacy giving campaign directors.
  • Craft and execute data-driven fundraising strategies, setting clear objectives and performance benchmarks for major gift, institutional giving, and legacy giving
  • Direct the major gifts program by recognizing, developing, and seeking major donors capable of making five-figure-plus contributions.
  • Guarantee precise and prompt stewardship, including issuing acknowledgment letters and recognizing donors appropriately.
  • Collaborate with program directors and senior staff to foster interdepartmental cooperation in support of organizational priorities.
  • Work closely with the marketing and communications team to create compelling fundraising materials, case statements, and donor communications that resonate with target audiences and encourage donor engagement.
  • Apply moves management techniques to guide donors through the donor cycle effectively, using data and analytics to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Oversee the creation, management, and administration of the development budget.
  • Organize and manage fundraising events, spanning from intimate donor gatherings to large-scale galas, evaluating the return on investment and effectiveness in achieving fundraising objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; advanced degree or CFRE certification preferred.
  • Over 7 years of experience in major gift fundraising, emphasizing metrics-driven accountability.
  • Proven track record securing six-figure gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, consistently meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
  • Expertise in developing fundraising plans and campaign strategies.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, skilled in effective project management and prioritization.
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and database management, leveraging technology for process improvement and data-driven decision-making.
  • Dedication to the organization’s mission and values, passionate about community impact and advancing philanthropy with innovation and excellence.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
In addition to a competitive salary of $175,000-$190,000 this opportunity offers a robust benefits package with fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 403(b)-retirement plan with employer contributions, and paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and more!
