Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Finance Manager for a national bipartisan organization dedicated to advancing policies for record clearance. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a mission-driven organization focused on transforming the lives of individuals with past records.

This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position that is fully remote.

What you will be doing:

• Preparing organizational financial reports on a monthly basis in collaboration with the outsourced accounting team
• Supporting monthly budget vs actuals variance analyses in consultation with the VP of Finance
• Generating ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested
• Ensuring proper coding of all invoices and expenditures, conducting periodic internal reviews as applicable
• Monitoring contract and grant balances to ensure proper payment balances
• Supporting the annual budgeting process, developing schedules and analysis as needed
• Managing and maintaining a series of financial internal controls
• Supporting the development, maintenance of, and compliance with a financial management handbook and associated financial management procedures
• Supporting the annual audit process
• Ensuring adequate document retention for all financial records
• Providing training and support to staff pertaining to expense and financial management as needed
• Supporting contract management activities as needed
• Periodically audit financial tools to ensure they meet organizational needs and provide adequate ROI
• Collaborating and provide cross-team surge support during times of high volume activities
• Performing other projects and tasks as assigned by the VP of Finance

What you will need:
 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance, with a minimum of 4-6 years of related experience; OR a relevant Master’s degree with 5 years of experience.
• Proficient in Google Workspace, Integra, Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as budget creation and analysis software.
• Familiarity with Expensify and Sage/Intacct is a plus.
