Scion Executive Search has been retained to conduct the search for the incoming Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Critical Path Institute, a nonprofit whose mission is to catalyze the development of new approaches that advance medical innovation and regulatory science to accelerate the path to a healthier world! Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer with a direct line of responsibility to the Audit and Finance Committee for all financial matters, this executive leadership opportunity is available for immediate hire on a hybrid basis with preference for candidates based in the organization’s headquarters in Tucson, Arizona.
ABOUT CRITICAL PATH INSTITUTE:
Critical Path Institute (C-Path) is a nonprofit, public-private partnership with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which was created under the auspices of the FDA’s Critical Path Initiative program in 2005. C-Path’s aim is to accelerate the pace and reduce the costs of medical product development through the creation of new data standards, measurement standards, and methods standards that aid in the scientific evaluation of the efficacy and safety of new therapies. These pre-competitive standards and approaches have been termed “drug development tools” (DDTs) by the FDA, which established a process for official review and confirmation of their validity for a given context of use.
The concerted efforts of C-Path since its founding have shaped innovative scientific and regulatory pathways, driving crucial progress in drug development for Parkinson’s disease and Duchenne muscular dystrophy among numerous others. C-Path’s solutions have contributed to the achievement of major healthcare advancements, including the first new tuberculosis treatment in 50 years, the first-ever disease modifying drugs for conditions like Alzheimer’s, as well as the first-ever product to delay the onset of type 1 diabetes. As an international leader driving a unique, best-in-class collaboration model, C-Path has established 20+ consortia that currently include more than 1,600 scientists, uniting industry leaders, academic researchers, regulatory bodies, and patient groups to propel groundbreaking advancements in medical research and treatment development.
