Scion Executive Search is leading the search for a new Executive Director for a renowned nonprofit dedicated to combating cancer. This organization has been committed to research, community health, outreach, and policy initiatives for over forty years. It is celebrated for its fundraising events and efforts to support cancer research and provide resources for those affected, significantly boosting awareness and funding for cancer treatment and prevention. This full-time remote position is available immediately in the Atlanta metro area. Candidates must reside within a nine-county radius of the ATL metro area.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead fundraising efforts in a designated geographic area and achieve an annual revenue goal of $1M+.
  • Oversee profit and loss management and operational excellence to ensure that ROI targets are met.
  • Manage the development team and lead a market-based council focused on fundraising to support and expand the nonprofit’s community.
  • Coach and mentor direct reports by setting an exemplary standard and demonstrating effective and results-driven fundraising strategies and tactics.
  • Foster relationships with internal staff, council members, volunteers, and external stakeholders to build robust local communities of supporters, thereby enhancing the organization's overall impact.
  • Manage events such as walks, races, galas, and performances throughout Georgia.
  • Cultivate and manage donors to make a significant impact in the local market.
  • Understand programmatic objectives, fundraising strategies, and the methods to achieve them.
  • Lead and manage both short- and long-term strategies to develop cost-effective, sustainable revenue streams and boost community engagement.
  • Collaborate with market staff to implement national and state development strategies, programs, and campaigns effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in fundraising, special events, and team management.
  • At least 5 years of fundraising experience managing over $1M in revenue through peer-to-peer events, major gifts, and sponsorships.
  • A genuine passion and a deep appreciation for the mission of the organization.
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout the service area using reliable personal transportation.
  • Skilled in securing in-person fundraising and sponsorship deals.
  • Strong abilities in volunteer recruitment and management and a proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and motivate businesses and leaders.
  • Proven track record in managing peer-to-peer programs successfully.
  • Skilled in recruiting and engaging leadership volunteers focused on revenue generation.
  • Up to 30% travel outside the home office, depending on business needs; willing and able to travel throughout the service area.
  • Well-acquainted with the community and local nonprofits.
  • Proven expertise and commitment to best practices in fund development, sponsorship, donor relations, and stewardship.
