Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Associate Director of Institutional Giving on behalf of our client, an established nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing scientific findings to the forefront with a focus on scientists, artists, and intellectuals! This is a wonderful, full-time, on-site, direct-hire opportunity with a dedicated, mission-driven, and experienced team in New York City!
The Associate Director of Institutional Giving will report to the Director of Development and be responsible for building upon and maintaining the organization’s portfolio of private foundations, private corporations, and government agency funders.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a fundraising portfolio targeting foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Identify potential funding sources and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
- Research philanthropic trends and identify funding opportunities.
- Prepare and submit grant proposals, applications, and reports.
- Manage grant budgets and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Serve as the primary institutional contact for the organization.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and prospects.
- Provide excellent donor stewardship and communication.
- Conduct in-depth research on potential funding sources while also analyzing funding trends and opportunities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on fundraising activities and results.
- Oversee the maintenance of donor and prospect records.
- Prepare financial reports and budgets.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience overseeing institutional giving portfolios that contain foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Proven success in identifying additional grant funding avenues to build upon the current portfolio and contribute to the organization’s continued growth.
- Strong understanding of donor database systems such as Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce as well as computer operating systems like Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent writing and communication skills for grant writing as well as donor relationship building.
- Ability to analyze data specifically project budgets.
- Highly organized, communicative, and collaborative with the ability to work as a team or individually to produce results.
- Experience with science focused nonprofit organizations is a plus.
Compensation:
