Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct the search for an Associate Director of Corporate & Community Partnerships on behalf of our client, an established organization centered on social impact initiatives that provide financial support to small business owners, based in Oakland, CA. This full-time, direct-hire role is primarily remote, with the expectations of ~one day a week in office, and offers the opportunity to join a dedicated, mission-driven team!
Overview:
This role is ideal for someone deeply committed to advancing social equity and environmental sustainability in relation to small businesses. The Associate Director will lead strategic partnership efforts, with a particular focus on initiatives within the climate economy. This role includes both fundraising and development responsibilities, aiming to build robust relationships with corporate and community partners. The position is pivotal in driving the organization’s mission to support underserved small businesses and foster equitable job creation.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership Development:
- Lead the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of corporate and community partnerships, with an emphasis on those contributing to climate economy initiatives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive partnership strategy that aligns with the organization's goals, focusing on both new and existing relationships.
Fundraising:
- Create and execute innovative fundraising strategies to secure financial support from corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors.
- Collaborate with the finance team to set and achieve annual fundraising targets, ensuring a diverse revenue stream.
Climate Economy Initiatives:
- Spearhead programs that link small business owners with resources and expertise in climate resilience, sustainability, and environmental impact.
- Design and manage projects that address the intersection of climate change and economic equity, ensuring these initiatives are both impactful and scalable.
Volunteer Management:
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of a nationwide network of volunteer advisors, focusing on those with expertise in climate-related fields.
- Develop and implement engagement strategies to keep volunteers active, informed, and aligned with the organization’s mission.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that emphasizes shared goals, continuous learning, and high performance.
Program Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design and execution of programs that empower underserved entrepreneurs, particularly those from marginalized communities.
- Ensure programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of small businesses in the climate sector, providing them with the tools and resources necessary for success.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate for the organization’s mission, representing the organization at public events, conferences, and in the media.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with a broad array of stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profits, and private sector leaders.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize data to monitor the effectiveness of partnership and fundraising initiatives, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership and the board of directors, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for growth.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about trends in corporate social responsibility, climate change, and community development to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve partnership and programmatic strategies, incorporating feedback from partners, staff, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a fundraising/ corporate sponsorships role with a demonstrable track record.
- Previous experience managing staff members, contractors, and/or volunteers.
- Successful experience in project/program design and management capacity in a growth/startup environment, preferred.
- Familiarity with climate-related industries and policy sectors strongly preferred.
- Proven networking and relationship-building skills both internally and externally.
- Empathetic, collaborative, and values-driven people leader.
- Strategic and data-driven decision-maker who embraces a culture of excellence and high performance.
- Detail-oriented with uncompromising desire for accuracy in reporting.
- Able to prioritize multiple requests with competing priorities and deadlines and communicate pro-actively with internal stakeholders.
- Excellent cognitive and critical thinking ability.
- Ability to influence others in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a salary range of $95,000 - $115,000 annually in addition to comprehensive benefits including 100% paid Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Holidays, Paid Time Off, 403(b) Retirement Plan vested immediately with a 20% match, Professional Development Opportunities, Cell Phone Stipend, Flexible Spending Account, Annual Performance Bonuses, and more!
