Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Environmental Campaign Director on behalf of our client, a nonprofit organization committed to preserving land within the region while protecting and enriching its natural resources. This is a full-time, consultant position based in Far Hills, NJ and is ready for immediate hire!
SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (hybrid work structure offered).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Direction
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to establish strategic goals for the program and oversee implementation of organizations activities toward program goals.
- Lead and provide direction to program partners, cultivating a culture of collaboration, inspiration, and innovation.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Advocacy Leadership
- Develop and manage a systems-level, science-based advocacy approach to reverse the problems created by deer overpopulation in New Jersey.
- Take charge of federal, state, and local policy advocacy endeavors to shape legislation and regulations required to effectuate change.
- Collaborate with program partners to manage organized advocacy efforts for all stakeholders.
External Engagement and Partnerships
- Foster and nurture partnerships with essential stakeholders, such as nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), government offices and agencies, industry groups and other allies.
- Engage, understand, negotiate, and/or neutralize adversaries and opposition.
- Serve as a representative of the organization at external forums, conferences, and media engagements to increase awareness, advocate for policy reforms, and champion the campaign.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You come with a minimum of five years of experience in policy advocacy, lobbying, or policy analysis.
- You have a proven strategy formulation track record of demonstrable high-stakes program leadership success.
- You have demonstrated experience managing campaigns with diverse stakeholders, impacted groups, and nonprofit organizations.
- You come with previous experience building grassroots coalitions
- Previous experience in supervisory, management, and fundraising roles preferred.
- Proven track record of working with government agencies and legislative bodies. Access to state, county and municipal decision makers in New Jersey preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including effective facilitation and the ability to empower high-performing teams.
- Knowledge of natural resource management, wildlife biology or animal ecology a plus.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This position offers a competitive salary of $125,000-$160,000 depending on experience. In addition to the opportunity to make a direct impact on the organizations incredible mission in this new role, other perks include a hybrid in office working structure, and free onsite parking This is a consultant-based position with an initial contract of 3 years, with potential to be extended.
