Collaborate strategically with the CEO to strengthen and support the cultivation and development of both prospective and existing donors, while optimizing revenue from fundraising activities.

Develop and execute strategies for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and community partners.

Oversee the development and implementation of strategies and infrastructure required to expand our budget through major gifts, grants, special events, and support from corporate and foundation partners.

Manage communications, public relations, marketing, and social media for the organization, while collaborating internally to advance community initiatives.

Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors and assist board members in taking a more active role in fundraising efforts.

Play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s long-term plans, working directly with the CEO, Board of Directors, and key fundraising volunteers.

Manage a department consisting of two communications staff and six development staff. Direct reports include the Associate Director of Development, Grant Writer, Major Gifts Officer, and Associate Director of Communications.

Identify, cultivate, and secure major gifts to meet fundraising goals, while also enhancing the planned giving program to further support and expand programmatic initiatives.

Work with staff to produce quarterly newsletters, annual reports, press releases, and event invitations.

Partner with internal parties to secure publicity for the organization through diverse media outlets, including print, digital, and social platforms.

Develop and manage the planning, execution, and implementation of all agency-related fundraising and donor relations events.

A minimum of six years of experience as a high-level development professional, with a proven track record of successfully leading both operating and capital fundraising efforts.

3+ years of experience supervising other fundraising professionals.

A genuine passion and a deep appreciation for the mission of the organization.

Previous experience in initiating, developing, and managing fundraising and donor-related events.

Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) or American Fundraising Professional (AFP) certification is preferred.

Skilled in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and Raiser’s Edge.

A thorough understanding of the philanthropic community in Los Angeles County, with a specialized focus on the Pasadena area, is essential.

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Over 10 years of experience in the relevant areas will be considered equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.
