Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Director of Home Care for our client, a nonprofit organization that provides services tailored to support older adults in living safe, healthy, and independent lives, including home care, companionship, personal assistance services, specialized dementia, and palliative care. The perfect candidate for this role will be a strong leader dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults and foster a culture of service excellence!

Reporting to the Director of Seniors at Home, The Director of Home Care is responsible for delivering high-quality home care services to older adults, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving program growth. Leading a team of Registered Nurses, Staffing Coordinators, Home Care Specialists, and other support personnel to provide outstanding care, this role requires a strategic leader with expertise in change management, ability to foresee industry trends, adjusting to evolving client needs, and implementing initiatives to broaden program impact and reach. This full-time, on-site opportunity is located in San Francisco.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Manage all facets of the Home Care program, including setting strategic goals, driving process enhancements, and ensuring efficient service delivery to elderly clients and their families in partnership with the Director of Seniors at Home.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance initiatives utilizing a continuous quality improvement approach to ensure alignment with organizational standards and goals.
  • Ensure high levels of client and family satisfaction through regular communication, prompt resolution of concerns, and effective issue management.
  • Partner with Marketing and Business Development teams to promote home care services, strengthen referral networks, and increase brand visibility.
  • Lead organizational change efforts to enhance service delivery, client care, and operational efficiency. Develop change management strategies to address market demands, regulatory changes, and organizational goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of the home care team, including Staffing Coordinators, Home Care Specialists, RN Supervisors, recruitment staff, and caregivers, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Implement proactive performance management by offering coaching, conducting evaluations, enforcing corrective actions, and acknowledging achievements. Cultivate a cooperative and client-focused work environment by promoting continuous mentorship and opportunities for professional growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, social work, gerontology, or related field; nursing degree and/or master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in home care, aging services, healthcare management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in employee management and supervision with a proven history of successfully overseeing and developing diverse teams.
  • In-depth experience with Federal, State, and local compliance, including reporting standards relevant to elderly care services.
  • Strong background in financial management, program design, strategic business planning, and implementing quality improvement measures.
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor, even when handling sensitive or challenging conversations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Russian and/or Tagalog is a plus!
  • Proven intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, along with prior experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems and home care management software.
  • Requires a valid CA driver’s license, proof of automobile liability insurance, and access to dependable transportation.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This impactful role offers a competitive salary in the range of $130,000 to $145,000 as well as a robust benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid life and disability insurance, employer 403(b) retirement match plus additional employer contribution, health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), 13 recognized, and 15 days of PTO and 10 days of sick leave!
