Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Development Associate on behalf of our client, an organization providing life-enriching experiences for children with serious medical conditions, offering support and joy during difficult times. This is a hybrid, contract opportunity based in Oakland, CA, with the potential to turn into an amazing permanent position for the right candidate!
Position Summary:
As the Development Associate, you will play a key role in managing external events, corporate partnerships, and student outreach programs. You will collaborate with the Director of Development and a team of dedicated professionals to meet fundraising goals, cultivate relationships with corporate sponsors, and ensure successful execution of events that support the organization's mission.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee external fundraising events, providing hosts with resources to maximize their efforts.
- Coordinate with corporate partners, leading fundraising initiatives from onboarding to post-campaign stewardship.
- Manage student fundraising programs and developing annual plans to grow engagement.
- Support major internal events, assisting with volunteer management, vendor coordination, and event logistics.
- Maintain fundraising data in CRM systems, ensuring timely and accurate record-keeping.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through various channels.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in fundraising, sales, or event management.
- Proven track record of exceeding fundraising or sales goals.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with Salesforce, Greater Giving, or similar CRM systems is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation:
This position offers an hourly pay rate of $35-36/hr, a monthly technology stipend, medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
