Scion Nonprofit Staffing, a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for a Temporary Employee Relations Specialist for immediate hire at a long-standing nonprofit in Seattle, WA!
**This is a 3-month, full-time contract opportunity that starts immediately. The role is hybrid, but you will need transportation to travel to other sites in Seattle for employee investigations when needed.
As the Employee Relations Specialist, you will handle employee investigations at the organization's various locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop standardized templates and protocols for conducting employee investigations.

Draft clear, comprehensive, and legally compliant documentation related to investigations, including investigative reports, findings, and recommendations.

Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters.

Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Legal, and other stakeholders to ensure consistency and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Provide guidance and support to managers and HR partners on best practices for managing employee relations issues.

Stay informed of relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure best practices in employee relations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

3+ years of Employee Relations experience in a unionized environment required.

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing investigation protocols and documentation.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound judgments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and NLRA.

Valid driver's license and own transportation for travel to other sites for investigations in Seattle.
COMPENSATION AND OTHER DETAILS:

The hourly rate for this role is $45 per hour. You will also be able to receive benefits through Scion Staffing upon eligibility! Benefits include medical, dental, vision, voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.

This role has a corporate location, but you will be required to travel to other sites in downtown Seattle to conduct investigations as needed. Parking and mileage to and from those locations will be reimbursed.
