Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Development Associate for our client, a respected non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in Washington, DC!

What you will be doing:
Data Management:
- Manage and maintain the organization's donor database, ensuring accurate and timely data entry for financial, in-kind, and volunteer contributions.
- Regularly perform quality checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data, making necessary updates and improvements.
- Provide monthly financial reports for the accountant, assist with annual closing, and support audit preparation.
- Generate weekly donor reports, tracking recent donations, donor history, and any relevant updates.
Donor Engagement:
- Coordinate donor stewardship, including personalized acknowledgments for financial, in-kind, and volunteer contributions.
- Organize thank you calls and special acknowledgments for donors.
- Proactively research potential donors and recommend follow-up strategies.
- Support outreach efforts for workplace campaigns, attending donor information fairs.
- Act as a resource for donors and prospects, managing general inquiries via email, phone, and mail.
Communications:
- Collaborate with the Communications Manager to produce printed materials and manage the distribution of press releases and email blasts.
- Manage records of photo releases and contribute to the organization’s blog and social media platforms.
Annual Appeals and Mailings:
- Coordinate quarterly appeals, working with printers and mail houses.
- Manage major donor communications, including quarterly in-house appeals and annual workplace campaign outreach.
- Coordinate volunteers for mailing newsletters and support the Development Manager in sending materials to major donors.
Special Events & Meetings:
- Assist with planning and executing fundraising events, including galas, donor appreciation events, and auctions.
- Manage event logistics, including RSVPs, guest lists, and sponsor benefits.
- Oversee donations related to the silent and live auctions at the annual Hope Awards Dinner.
- Staff events and coordinate volunteers, vendors, and participants as needed.
- Provide support for Board of Directors meetings, including communication, materials, and document management.
Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance to the development team, including scheduling, organizing files, and handling correspondence.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Represent the organization in the community at events and speaking engagements.
- Participate in staff meetings and on-site training sessions.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Development Director.
What you will need:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions in a timely manner.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with data entry and database management (advanced skills required).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep accurate records.
- Effective speaking and writing skills for persuasive communication.
