Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Senior Manager of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) for a leading industrial manufacturing company. This is a full-time opportunity with the potential for a hybrid schedule after completing a successful training and orientation period. This is a direct-hire, hybrid position about 30 minutes north of Binghamton, New York.

In this role, the ESG Senior Manager will spearhead the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive ESG management system tailored to the company’s needs. This individual will bring expertise in ESG practices, reporting frameworks, and data analysis to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with industry standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with a strong foundation in sustainability strategies and the ability to engage cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and Implement ESG Systems: Create policies, procedures, and guidelines for an ESG management system, ensuring compliance with regulations and alignment with parent company directives.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Stay informed on ESG trends, governance standards, and reporting frameworks (e.g., SASB, CDP, GRI, UN SDGs). Assess company performance and recommend strategies to close data and knowledge gaps
  • Performance Management: Develop and maintain ratings, prepare submissions to rating agencies, and respond to customer and supplier requests.
  • Project Management: Establish and manage an interdepartmental ESG committee, coordinating timelines and educating internal stakeholders on ESG topics.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee ESG data validation, analysis, and reporting. Support audits and functional teams in developing KPIs, goals, and data management processes.
  • Communication: Develop internal and external ESG communications, including reports, dashboards, presentations, and sustainability reports.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in ESG meetings and collaborate with sister companies to ensure best practices.
  • Risk and Impact Management: Develop plans to mitigate ESG risks and reduce environmental impacts.
  • Resource Management: Oversee ESG budgets, expenses, and resource allocation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in ESG, sustainability, environmental studies, business, or a related field. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in ESG or a related role, with at least 3 years in management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Strong analytical skills, project management expertise, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
  • Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments is preferred.
  • ESG credentials or certifications preferred (e.g., GRI, CDP, Sustainalytics).
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Experience with developing budgets and implementing process improvements.

COMPENSATION:
This position offers a salary between $140,000-160,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package including vacation available immediately, 10 paid holidays, medical, dental vision, EAP, FSA, life insurance and AD&D, disability insurance, comprehensive 401(k) retirement plan with company match, profit Sharing Plan based on annual profitability, long-term care Insurance vacation, sick, & volunteer time as well as a tuition aid program.
