Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Medical Billing Manager for our client, a wonderful multisite organization in San Francisco (specifically Mission and Excelsior districts)! In this role, you’ll oversee all billing functions, including AR, claims, payment posting, denials tracking, and reimbursement tracking. This is a full time, direct hire, onsite role.

  • Compensation range is $100-130k, depending on experience

What you will be doing:
  • Ensure billing department is submitting claims accurately and efficiently; collections follow 3rd party contract terms including commercial insurance, managed care, Medi-Cal, and Medicare; with the goal of maximizing revenue
  • Directing the review of denials and unprocessed claims, and their resubmission
  • Monitor all AR balances to maximize cash flow
  • Establish, maintain, enhance and enforce billing policies and procedures with the intent of continuous improvement
  • Ensure highest productivity and quality for billing, coding, and compliance
  • Coordinate month/year end close with RCM leadership
  • Oversee the operations of the billing team including orientation, development, assigning of tasks, coaching, and monitoring with corrective actions as necessary
  • Stay up to date with compliance, coding, and industry best practice changes

What you will need:
  • 5+ years experience in RCM/Billing leadership role in a medical environment; nonprofit health center experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel and large data set skills including pivot tables
  • Ability to analyze data, metrics, and KPIs
  • Experience with Epic; Ochin Epic is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with best practices and rules that impact health insurance reimbursement on state/federal level
  • Expertise in the health care revenue cycle workflow, including AR, collections, and write-offs
  • Knowledge in CPT codes and ICD-10 protocols; CPC is preferred
  • Experience training, supervising, and coaching successful billing teams
