Scion Nonprofit Staffing, an award-winning full-service staffing firm, has been engaged to lead the search for a Family Advocate on behalf of our client—a mission-driven organization committed to supporting low-income families, children, and women in San Francisco. This full-time, onsite role is available immediately and is open to qualified candidates residing in the greater San Francisco area.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Family Advocate will deliver holistic support and advocacy services to women and children within the community. This position focuses on assessing client needs, creating tailored service plans, and linking families to essential resources that foster their well-being and independence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to determine the needs of women and children seeking support.
  • Collaborate with clients to create and execute personalized service plans.
  • Deliver consistent case management, including routine follow-ups to track progress and modify plans as needed.
  • Link clients to suitable community resources, including housing, employment, healthcare, and educational opportunities.
  • Stay informed about available services and programs within the community to provide relevant support.
  • Advocate for clients to ensure they have access to essential services and assistance.
  • Equip clients with knowledge and tools to independently navigate systems and resources.
  • Contribute to the creation and facilitation of programs and workshops that address community needs.
  • Partner with staff to improve existing services and identify opportunities for program expansion.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with community partners and service providers.
  • Represent the organization at community events and meetings, promoting the organization's mission and offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in family advocacy, social services, or a comparable field.
  • Proven experience supporting diverse populations, with a focus on low-income families and children.
  • In-depth knowledge of community resources and social service networks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Proficiency in case management and accurate documentation practices.
  • Bilingual proficiency is an asset.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
In addition to working for an organization with a phenomenal mission and a positive team-oriented work environment, the salary for this role is $75,000.
