Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, an impactful community action organization. This is a direct-hire, hybrid position in Georgetown, TX!

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Accounts Payable Associate and Staff Accountant.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger coding.
• Ensure timely financial reporting, month-end, and year-end close.
• Manage banking activities, cash flow, and budget monitoring.
• Assist with grant reporting, audits, and compliance.
• Process payroll and maintain records.
• Support CFO with financial analysis and policy updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, related field and/or relevant professional experience.
• Previous nonprofit experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), regulations, and financial reporting standards.

• Familiarity with IRS regulations for 501(c)(3) organizations and Uniform Grant Guidance preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software and intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables & VLOOKUP)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Compensation:
This position offers an annual salary between $75,000-$85,000 in addition to comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a retirement plan with employer matching, and flexible spending accounts.
