Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Manager for our client, an incredible nonprofit organization that focuses on strengthening its local community by connecting people who want to make a difference with the resources needed to support local initiatives. This is a hybrid, direct-hire opportunity in Austin, TX!

Perk:

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a consultant and learn the ins and outs of planned giving. We encourage individuals with experience in the development field who are looking to expand their expertise into planned giving to apply!

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects and secure new commitments. 
  • Partner with donors and advisors to secure planned and non-cash asset gifts.
  • Steward donors with planned gifts, including trusts and bequests.
  • Oversee the Legacy Society, creating engagement strategies and increasing membership.
  • Collaborate with Communications to raise awareness of planned giving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Finance on gift planning operations and non-cash asset transfers.
  • Streamline internal processes, track results, and ensure compliance.
  • Stay updated on industry changes related to tax, estate planning, and charitable giving.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and previous professional development experience at a nonprofit, higher education, or similar organization.
  • Proven experience in cultivating relationships with donors to secure deepened commitment through multi-year, major, or other gifts.
  • A general understanding of technical aspects of non-cash gifts, including privately held and restricted stock, business interests, and real property and understanding of technical aspects of types of planned gifts including bequests, life-income gifts and gifts of life insurance and retirement assets (preferred not required).
  • Proficiency with standard planned giving software such as Crescendo or PG Calc (preferred not required).

Compensation:
This position offers an annual salary of $80,000-$90,000 and a benefits package including 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(K) with match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
