RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent insurance companies, policyholders, and businesses in lawsuits involving various types of claims, including bodily injury, property damage, and other liability issues.
- Handle all phases of litigation, from pre-suit negotiations and discovery to trial and post-trial motions. Manage case strategy, conduct depositions, and draft motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case arguments, review policy language, and interpret relevant statutes and case law.
- Regularly communicate with clients to provide updates on case status, strategy, and outcomes. Offer sound legal advice tailored to each case.
- Evaluate cases for potential settlement opportunities and negotiate settlements when appropriate, ensuring that the client’s best interests are prioritized.
- Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials. Provide expert advocacy in both written and oral form.
- Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure the efficient management of cases and timely completion of tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor and Texas Bar License required.
- Previous insurance defense litigation experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Clio.
