  • Provide strategic insights and guidance on high-impact projects, empowering a dedicated mission-driven team!
  • Enjoy the flexibility of a remote position with a competitive hourly rate!
  • Make a meaningful contribution to an organization during a key transitional period and help drive its continued growth and success!

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead the development and implementation of organizational controls, policies, and structures in alignment with legal and nonprofit standards.
  • Represent the organization in legal meetings and mediations with professionalism and integrity.
  • Offer strategic recommendations on nonprofit compliance, organizational structure, and leadership planning to strengthen the organization’s future success.
  • Support succession planning in partnership with the leadership team and Board, ensuring a seamless transition for future leadership.
  • Help build out board committees (e.g., audit, governance) and enhance documentation protocols, including assessing current Board member skillsets and identifying future recruitment needs.
  • Serve as a trusted third-party consultant to help facilitate decision-making at the executive and board levels, always keeping the organization's mission at the forefront.
  • Contribute to the successful onboarding and transition of the permanent CEO, ensuring a smooth handoff for the Board and leadership team.

What You Have to Offer:
  • 10+ years of nonprofit leadership, ideally as a CEO, Executive Director, nonprofit consultant, interim executive, or attorney with significant nonprofit experience.
  • Proven expertise in executive leadership, nonprofit Board governance, Board member development, organizational compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Experience supporting organizations in regulatory compliance and participating in legal meetings/mediations is highly preferred.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with founder-led organizations and newly formed boards, offering both leadership and support.
  • A consultative leadership style that emphasizes high-level strategy, while working in partnership with the leadership team to drive day-to-day operations.
