Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Development Officer on behalf of our client, a nonprofit organization focused on affordable housing and self-reliance through homeownership. This is a direct-hire, full-time, hybrid position with benefits based in Miami, FL.
PERKS:
- Competitive Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 high-net-worth individuals in Miami-Dade County, identifying and cultivating strong relationships to secure significant donations.
- Strategically engage with donors, coordinating in-person meetings and other relationship-building activities to secure five and six-figure contributions.
- Drive efforts to meet and exceed annual fundraising targets, consistently closing major gifts from individuals.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for solicitation of major gifts, focusing on a caseload of active prospects.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership, board members, and existing donors to identify new prospects and facilitate donor visits.
- Utilize a collaborative approach to analyze donor portfolios, strategize potential upgrades, and foster partnerships with corporate executives for individual gifts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years in leadership gifts development
• Successful experience closing complex five and six-figure commitments including planned gifts, campaign and endowment gifts, and investment options
• Raiser’s Edge is a plus
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This full-time, exempt position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000, based on experience. Benefits include full health insurance, free short-term and long-term disability, and a $50,000 life insurance policy. Additional perks include a 403B retirement plan with a company match after one year, 17 PTO days that increase after two years, 10 holidays, mileage reimbursement, and a company-provided cell phone!
