The incoming Executive Director will lead this exciting resource and social justice movement for gender-based violence survivors and advocates into the future!
ABOUT FAMILY VIOLENCE APPELLATE PROJECT:
Family Violence Appellate Project (FVAP) is dedicated to working to end domestic violence and gender-based abuse by creating a robust, influential body of case law to change how courts throughout two states respond to survivors and their children. FVAP shapes the law to prioritize the safety of survivors and children by representing clients in appellate courts, submitting amicus curiae briefs in cases of statewide importance, requesting publication of important cases, and engaging in legislative and systems change advocacy efforts.
With an extremely diverse list of clientele, FVAP is a proponent of gender and racial justice, aiming to serve individuals and advocates throughout California and Washington states, including rural, suburban, and urban populations from the most marginalized communities. They also support a statewide network of gender-based violence and legal aid service providers by providing training, technical assistance, and written informational materials, and by facilitating information exchange among statewide stakeholders supporting survivors.
