Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Major Gifts Manager for our client, an impactful and well-known accredited music school based in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid, full-time opportunity and is ready for immediate hire.

Responsibilities of this position include: 
  • Create, implement, and manage various efforts to obtain support from individuals and corporations at the $5,000 level and above. Including managing a portfolio of 100-150 major donors and prospects to secure both annual and multi-year gifts  
  • Conduct research and prepare donor profiles using the database and other means to identify donors for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship opportunities  
  • Draft proposals, gift agreements, reports, and other written materials to support gift solicitation for the personal portfolio as well as in support of the major gift portfolios of the VP for Development & Marketing and the President/Executive Director 
  • Employ Raiser's Edge and NXT to track activity and goals and report results 
  • Attend events and participate in other meetings, training opportunities, or activities as necessary to further cultivate and prospect donor relationships 
  • Work with the Vice President for Development to strengthen the planned giving program. This includes assessing the program's current state, developing a communications strategy with current members, creating a more regular stewardship program, and implementing a campaign to attract new members 
  • Secure corporate gifts for the annual gala by working with peer fundraisers to identify prospects and submitting applications as appropriate 
 
What you need to be successful: 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a successful fundraising track record in individual giving and/or major gifts  
  • Experience with fundraising for the arts and/or education Belief in the importance of inclusion, diversity, equity, and antiracism in music education 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Communicating effectively and having a keen attention to detail are important
  • Ability to maintain organization and prioritize tasks.

Compensation:
