Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Assistant for an amazing Nonprofit organization focused on supporting the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities in Northern California. This is an exciting Fully-Remote, Short-Term Contract, Part-Time opportunity working 20+ hours a week with flexible hours!
As the Accounting Assistant, you will bring your accounting knowledge and excellent communication skills to support the accounting departing during the transition between bookkeepers. Your commitment to the mission and ability to hit the ground running is vital for this position!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing for up to 17 employees
- Invoicing processing including entering invoices into accounting system, e/mail approved invoices (daily), maintain electronic files for un/paid invoices, and monitor AR inbox
- Reconcile all accounts receivable payments and discrepancies
- Research and resolve and accounts payable discrepancies
- Review corporate card expenses and accurately record employee expenses
- Analyze any prepaid expenses and record monthly expenses
- Enter deposits into accounting system (daily); review and enter incoming checks, EFTs, and credit card deposits
- Enter journal entries, perform reconciliation between accounting systems, and reconcile deferred revenue for services not delivered
- Promote electronic invoice delivery and direct deposit
- Assist with other accounting department duties as needed
- 2+ years of Accounting Assistant experience
- 2+ years of Payroll experience
- Support of the organiation's mission
- Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred
- Proficiency with Slack
- Proficiency with Google Suite
- Proficiency with Fund EZ is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
