Scion Executive Search (SES) has been exclusively retained by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (the CFO) to conduct an immediate search for its next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). SES is thrilled to partner with the CFO as it celebrates 50 years of impact! This full-time, on-site leadership opportunity is located in Springfield, MO. Exceptional community foundation executive leaders are encouraged to apply. The CFO is deeply committed to community development, equity, diversity, and inclusion for the betterment of central and southern Missouri.

ABOUT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION of the OZARKS
The Community Foundation of the Ozarks works to enhance the quality of life for Missourians and future generations by building community endowments, meeting needs through grantmaking, providing leadership, and promoting collaboration on community issues.

In the early 1970s, a group of estate-planning attorneys learned of a sizeable estate gift that left Springfield because there wasn’t a place to accept a general gift for community betterment. Fifteen banks provided $100 each to create the region’s first public charitable foundation in 1973.

Today, the CFO holds assets of about $415 million, which have approximately doubled over the past decade. It is governed by community volunteers and run by a professional staff that serves a network of donors, 53 regional affiliate foundations, nonprofit partners, and professional advisors through approximately 3,600 charitable funds.

The Foundation is anchored in Springfield, Missouri, the state’s third largest city and a regional hub with several universities, major healthcare systems, and a variety of recreational and cultural experiences. The foundation serves the population of Springfield and a large rural geography, granting easy proximity to beautiful natural resources, including well-known tourism and retiree destinations in Branson and Lake of the Ozarks. The Foundation’s urban-rural diversity creates complex specific needs and many opportunities for philanthropic leadership.
