Responsibilities:
  • Manage a classroom of approximately 8-10 secondary level students, including supervision of instructional assistants and support staff.
  • Develop and implement curriculum tailored to individual student needs within a self-contained classroom.
  • Deliver instruction at various educational levels to support academic and vocational success.
  • Collaborate with therapists and educational personnel on behavior programs and IEP conferences.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including student progress reports, grade reports, and compliance with safety and confidentiality policies.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and adhere to policies on reporting and confidentiality.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education 
  • Willingness to obtain an Illinois Professional Educator License with Learning Behavioral Specialist (LBS1) endorsement.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license..
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of IEP planning, service delivery, and crisis intervention.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the role, including providing physical restraint if necessary.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive salary of $75,000 commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that supports your well-being and professional development.
